Statline Announces Comprehensive Eye Banking Module Release

February 23, 2016

Statline®, a leading technology and software company serving the donation and transplantation communities, announced the release and implementation of its software program for eye banks.  Developed with consultation from University of Texas Southwestern Transplant Services Center (TSC), this comprehensive system captures and stores data electronically from the initial donor referral through cornea processing and distribution, reducing errors and streamlining recordkeeping and quality assurance.

The proprietary system, DonorTrac Plus, now incorporates ISBT 128 – an international standard used in 77 countries and recently mandated by the Eye Banking Association of America (EBAA). DonorTrac Plus creates a complete system for tracking the recovery, evaluation, processing and disposition of the ocular grafts associated with each donation.  Michelle Gilbert, DonorTrac Plus Product Manager, shares her enthusiasm for the new program, “One of the more exciting features in this innovative software is a case overview with built-in dashboards that allow for responsive, quick and intuitive analysis of critical case information, driving efficiencies in every phase of the process.”

“Statline is proud to have accomplished this groundbreaking project with a key leader in the eye banking field,” said Alison Smith, Statline’s General Manager.  Recommendations from Donna Drury, TSC’s Executive Director, were integral in developing the content of the system. In addition to distributing ocular tissues, TSC also recovers and distributes other donated tissues including musculoskeletal and dermal tissues, and will be consulting on the subsequent development for those activities.   Ms. Smith continued, “We are well positioned to assist this diverse community of eye banks.  As always, our mission of facilitating donation, transplantation and research parallels the missions of our clients.  In this case that means expanding donation and eliminating corneal blindness by offering a configurable software solution that will address specific organizational needs and processes without incurring the high cost of customized development that often accompanies other electronic options in the market. We have a much better, more cost effective solution and look forward to partnering with more eye banks.  I am thrilled that thus far, market reaction is quite favorable. Statline is working closely with a number of other Eye Banks in the US and globally to deliver the exciting functionality and user capabilities of this new software.”

Newsha Makooi, Division Chief, Statline Technology Services, stated “Our finished product has an exceptional user-interface which builds on the robust technical structure of DonorTrac Plus. The new responsive dashboards allow the user to instantly analyze business processes and match recipient needs to available gifts.   Our teams have delivered a significant advancement not just for DonorTrac Plus, but also for the communities who will benefit from our new capabilities.  I am incredibly proud of our team.  We are eager to demonstrate our capabilities to this new market for Statline.”

Statline will be hosting live demonstrations during the EBAA annual meeting in June, and will be attending with a large contingent to share the exciting new details and functionality of DonorTrac Plus with the membership.
